This is a digital PDF that includes Arduino code. You will receive a link in your email to download the PDF after purchase.

This is a 50 page guide to understanding the basic and advanced features of Trinamic stepper motors.

Trinamic makes some of the most popular and widely used stepper motor drivers in the world. They can be found in millions of 3D printers that are increasingly being used in all types of advanced motion control applications.

However, what makes them so powerful also makes them complex. In this guide, I will teach you to everything you need to know to use the Trinamic TMC2209 stepper motor driver in the Arduino IDE.

Arduino example code included!

You'll learn the following:

  1. Hardware requirements
  2. What to look for in your hardware
  3. Basics of stepper motors
  4. Stepper motor power requirements
  5. How to program the TMC2209 in Arduino

Including the following advanced topics:

  1. How to use StallGuard
  2. Dual-core and single-core operation
  3. Finite state machine example

It was some time ago now and I've completed the project, but my memory of your text was the only information I could find that easily explained the technique to adjust settings to stop the motor on end of travel. Thanks and I wish you success.

Hi, the ebook is very clear, especially for the theorical aspect.
Everything went fine since I was using a TMC2209 driver but now
I've to admit that I'm struggling trying to use an FYSETC QHV5160 driver with full SPI mode (it worked fine using step/dir) on a Japanese NEMA17 and I'm considering to change the TMCStepper library.

Going on studying....
